Artist's Comments

The title comes from the song "typical" by MuteMath, which I was listening to while drawing this.

I'm really happy with how this turned out. I think the hair looks less stiff than my last one which is what I was aiming for. As with all my other recent pictures, the goal is to improve my colouring skills. I really appreciate suggestions and criticism! ^^

[link] is the picture I used as a reference. :)

About the picture: Well, his name is Miles... That's about all I've got so far.

Done 100% in photoshop with a mouse... (As it is now evident that I'm never going to find my lost tablet)

*edit* Fixed the shading under his chin.

This is really nice, especially done with a mouse, great work! I think more shadow area under the chin would look better though ^^

Turtles with triangular shells- you could spin them like spinning tops... lets face it turtles would be alot more popular

Thanks for the fave! I appreciate the critique, when I've got some time, I'll try adding a bit more shading. I didn't notice that until you pointed it out ^^

No problem! I'm really bad at real life drawing ,you're really talented I think peope are one of the hardest things to draw, you can't cover up anatomy mistakes with fur =)

 Bravo!
This is amazing work, considering the excessive amount of mouse strokes required to accomplish this. I can sympathize with this technique and appreciate it since some mice are difficult to work with. ^_^ :+fav:

Aww, thanks for the comment and fave!
You're right about the mouse being difficult, this took a looong time.

With a mouse?! Holy bejeesus! This is awesome - I certainly hope you find your tablet though. :\ I'd send you my old one, but my German Shepherd chewed through the wire on the back. :\ This looks like it was done in coloured pencils, it's beautiful. :) His lips could be a little fuller and some more definition to the shading would be very helpful, but otherwise, I definitely love this and he has a sense of realistic existence that is hard to achieve in original characters. Great work!
